Okay so for quite some time I tried my best to figure out how to get the free apps in the app store without using a credit card! The challenge is that every time you want to download an app, even a free one, you need to create an account using a credit card.

I thought it rather unfair that I had to put my credit card in for free stuff, until I realized that there is a workaround to this!

Note: I’m assuming you have not been successful in creating an iTunes store account so if you have one, this article wont matter for you. It is a article for the newbs or the security conscious who do not want to enter their credit card info and just downloading the free apps.

SETTING UP AN ITUNES STORE ACCOUNT FOR FREE (WITHOUT HAVING TO PUT IN YOUR CREDIT CARD):

1. Open iTunes on your computer
2. Go to Store
3. FIRST Find a FREE APP
4. Select the app to download/purchase
5. When it asks to create an account, create a new account
6. When the option comes to enter credit card information, you will notice that this time it actually has the option called “NONE”. Select this option and finish filling in all your details.
7. Once done, check your email and complete the registration
8. Now you will have your new iTunes Store account. Go to your iPhone/iPod Touch App Store icon and select any free app you want.
9. Enter in your username and password which you made for the iTunes Store
10. VOILA!!!!! YOU NOW CAN DOWNLOAD ALL THE FREE APPS YOU WANT!!!

Congratulations, you just saved yourself from entering your credit card info and now you can get all the free apps you want from the app store on your iPhone/iPod Touch!
